Access2Excellence Scholarship at Northern Arizona University 2026

Access2Excellence (A2E) is Northern Arizona University's tuition-guarantee program, ensuring that qualifying undergraduates pay nothing toward tuition. It's open to Arizona residents with a household income of $65,000 or less, and - separately - to members of any of Arizona's 22 federally recognized tribes, who qualify regardless of income or state residency. A2E covers full undergraduate tuition for fall and spring semesters through a combination of scholarships and grants, but it doesn't extend to fees, housing, books, or other living costs - and there's no fixed application deadline. Eligibility is determined through your regular NAU admission and FAFSA process rather than a separate scholarship form, so there's nothing extra for Indian applicants (who would need to independently qualify as Arizona residents, which most incoming international students wouldn't) or Arizona-based Indian-American families to submit beyond the standard financial aid steps.

To qualify for Access2Excellence, applicants must:

• Be an Arizona resident with a household income of $65,000 or less (verified via FAFSA), or be a member of one of Arizona's 22 federally recognized tribes (no income or residency requirement in this case)
• Apply for and be admitted to NAU's Flagstaff or a statewide campus (online-only students are not eligible)
• Complete the FAFSA once it opens October 1 and submit any additional financial aid documents requested
• Confirm A2E status once it appears on their financial aid offer
• Enroll full-time (12+ credits per term) in both fall and spring semesters

Partial Funding , Tuition charges

A2E covers 100% of undergraduate tuition for fall and spring semesters, funded through a mix of tuition scholarships and grants. It does not cover summer or winter session tuition, mandatory fees, books, housing, food, transportation, or other personal expenses — students are encouraged to apply for additional aid (e.g., through ScholarshipUniverse) to cover those separately.
